Flash back a decade to the year 2000, the Y2K bug was set to cause havoc in the world of tech. Devices were predicted to malfunction, cash machines shut down and computers to explode and destroy all of humanity! Ten years on and the panic of the day is almost laughable. Well, unless your a Windows Mobile user that is!
WMExperts are reporting that some Smartphones have been affected by a bug that set in late Thursday night causing messages sent after 1/1/2010 to be dated as received in 2016. WM users have been quick to address the issue with this temporary .cab fix which uses 'your device time instead of the SMS gateway server' to correctly display the date the message was received.
Although this problem has been been primarily reported by WM 6.1 and 6.5 users it may affect other similar devices in the same way.
