Over the last few years, Web 2.0 has seen it's fair share of social startups, from micro-blogging wannabes to 'the next facebook or myspace', each managing to be more generic than the last. Enter Gdgt, a social network to designed around the latest and greatest consumer tech. Social gadgetry? Okay so sounds a little random at first, but I promise there is much more to this site than an ostentatious clash of genre. Let's have a butchers...

Plurk; Micro-blogging flop or web 2.0's hidden gem?

Plurk is one among the many newly emerging mini-social network or 'micro blogging' websites. Like Twitter and several others, the idea of the site is based solely around status updates or 'Plurks'. But in the over-crowded climate of online social networking, is this site actually worth checking out or just another company trying to jump on the band wagon?
